TAPA: The Cloth That Binds Us

Directed and styled by Nancy Thompson, TAPA is a short film and couture collection inspired by the Polynesian tradition of barkcloth and the stories woven within it. Created under the label LIFT Island, the piece merges ancestral symbolism with modern fashion storytelling.
The film premiered at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and was officially selected by Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival, MĀSIMA, and the Los Angeles Pasifika Film Festival. The film also screened at the Seattle Asian American Film Festival and The Pacific Runway festival in Sydney, Australia.
